This
SR-56 was manufactured in Brazil
and seems to be identical with the US-manufactured models. The
backside of the calculator sports a bold sticker with the serial number
and country of origin and a Date code with
"CIB" for Texas Instrumentos Eletrônicos do Brasil Ltda. -
Campinas. Later Texas Instruments calculators sold in Brazil like the SR-40
LCD were assembled by Indústrias
Gerais da Amazonia S.A..
Dismantling
the SR-56 reveals a well known printed circuit board (PCB), we noticed no
differences to the US-built models.
Fellow collectors - if you own a SR-56 please report us
the serial number and date code on the back of the calculator
for our SR-56 Database.
Don't miss the later TI-30 and Money
Manager manufactured in Brazil, too.
