txi-8649a_1.jpg (100912 Byte)This rare Montgomery Ward electronic D12K desktop calculator reveals itself with the official TXI-8649A designation on the backside label as a Texas Instruments product. The outside of this calculator resembles that of the Radio Shack EC-1000 but contains the feature set of the TI-4000 plus an additional [AD] key.

The electronic D12K fits into a row of three similiar desktop calculators:

electronic D8F aka TXI-8647A, based on the TI-3000
electronic D10P aka TXI-8648A, based probably on the TI-3500
electronic D12K aka TXI-8649A, based probably on the TI-4000
