The
Canon Palmtronic LC-81M replaced in 1979 the original LC-8M
and uses still the Toshiba
T3709 calculator chip and a yellow LCD. Within one year this chip was obsolete
and Canon introduced the LC-82M.
In 1985 Canon introduced with the LC-83M
a four-banger with the Algebraic Operating System (AOS) in a much thinner housing.
