You know this calculator? The TI-56 is the European version of the TI-55 III sold elsewhere. The first edition of the TI-56 was manufactured in Taiwan.

In 1986 Texas Instruments changed the design of the "2nd generation slanted calculators" slightly. If you compare this TI-56 introduced already in 1985 with the later TI-56 (1986) focus yourself on the position of the TI logo.

TI-55-III_Switch.jpg (21749 Byte)Between 1985 and 1986 Texas Instruments created an amazing number of different designs in the "Second Generation - Slanted LCD" calculator series just by moving production to far-east contract manufacturers, fetching manufacturing back to their own facilities and revising the design.
