ReBell Elektronik GmbH was founded in Grünwald near Munich to manufacture, import and export electronic products. The Rebell brand has quickly and successfully developed on the German and European markets providing high quality calculators for private and professional use. With a strict focus on education, the Fiamo brand was later added to complement Rebell. The Rebell and Fiamo brands were acquired in 2008 by Moravia Consulting, the official brand licensee of HP Inc., successor of the original Hewlett-Packard, for HP branded calculators.

The Fiamo ABA10 was introduced in 2007 as an alternative to Texas Instruments' tried and proved BA II Plus. With Fiamo's focus on the educational market, the keyboard design of the ABA10 was kept "textbook compatible" with the BA II Plus without copying the calculator blandly - like others did.

Disassembling the featured Fiamo ABA10 manufactured in March 2024 by an unknown company in China reveals a very solid internal construction centered around a single-chip calculator circuit mounted in Chip-on-Board (COB) technology directly on a double-sided printed circuit board (PCB) and powered by a CR2032 battery.

Removing the small blob of epoxy resin protecting the chip of the Fiamo ABA10 calculator reveals a microcontroller marked with EU3A09 and manufactured by ELAN Microelectronics Corporation, a semiconductor company headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Die size approximately 130 mils * 70 mils / 3.4 mm * 1.8 mm. Die Photo courtesy of Sean Riddle.

Inspecting the PCB of this Fiamo ABA10 calculator brought our attention to a small mark reading ABA10 Rev.01. We started compiling a list of the PCB-Marks on calculators manufactured by OEMs for Texas Instruments but couldn't identify the manufacturer of this ABA10.
